Green Design

Welcome to the Mammoth Track Project.  Over the past year the Mammoth Track Project team has been paving the way for an all weather track in our altitude paradise.  After land grants and permits, surveying and design work we are breaking ground in Spring of 2012.  We are just shy of the total needed to fund the project, so we need your help in completing the vision.  Here is the list of what the facility will include:

8 lane all weather track to host all track & field events

Synthetic infield for javelin, soccer & football

Concession stand & locker rooms

Picnic pavilion

Jogging path with fitness stations

Kiosk (includes trailhead guidance, naming of surrounding peaks & history of area)

Parking lot

The Mammoth Track Project is not only located off the scenic “Green Church Road” but we incorporated a green design so not to take away from the beautiful environment in which it nestles.  We are working with companies who incorporate recycled tires into the track’s polyurethane pour as well as the synthetic infield.  The synthetic turf on the infield will not use water which is a precious commodity in the Eastern Sierra. We are grateful to have received a grant from the California Integrated Waste Management Board for the use of recycled tires to help fund the project.

The locker rooms and concession stand are intended to be powered by solar panels on the roof, and the stadium seating will be made of e-crete and natural rock.  The incredible design work was done by landscape architect Brett T. Long.
